Southern States product line includes the broadest array of group
operated outdoor air disconnect switches of any supplier in the world.
In addition to our standard switch designs we also offer switches
tailored to specific requirements such as static var compensation
(SVC) stations, high voltage DC (HVDC) stations , series capacitor
bypassing, and reactor switching, just to name a few. We also have
many offerings for installations in seismic active areas, at high
altitudes, in heavily contaminated locations, in areas subjected to
significant ice accumulations and/or extreme cold, and other demanding
environments.

RDA-1V 362 kV,
3000 A double end break "Vee" switch
Our
group operated air disconnect switches are manufactured at voltage
ratings of 8.25 kV through 1100 kV and continuous current ratings
of 600 amperes through 6500 amperes. These switches can be furnished
for mounting horizontal upright at all kV ratings, vertical for kV
ratings up through and including 242 kV, and underhung (inverted)
for kV ratings up through and including 362 kV. Manual operators (swing
handle type or gear crank type) and electric motor operators can be
furnished for any of the available types and ratings. These switches
are typically shipped assembled on insulators at ratings of 48.3 kV
and below and with the live parts bolted to the switch bases and the
insulators shipped separately at ratings of 72.5 kV and above. Exceptions
to this rule are center break "Vee" switches and double
end break "Vee" switches which are typically shipped assembled
on insulators at all kV ratings up through and including 169 kV. Any
available group operated switch can be shipped insulators assembled
up through and including 169 kV (and even 242 kV in some cases) when
specified by the request for quotation. 362 kV and larger kV rated
units cannot be shipped with the insulators assembled on the switches
due to height restrictions.
You
will find Southern States group operated disconnect switches at work
